HYDERABAD: The announcement of the Assembly election results on Tuesday will not end the ‘poll fever’ in the State. It will continue for another seven months, as the State will witness a series of elections. Immediately after the Assembly election results are announced, the new State government is likely to conduct polls for Panchayat Raj bodies. The High Court accorded green signal for the conduct of Panchayat Raj elections on Monday.

“The election fever will continue in the State. The Panchayat Raj elections have to be conducted immediately after the formation of the State government. There will be a lot of work for political parties who will have to get back into campaigning mode soon,” a minister in the State caretaker government told Express.

Once the State Election Commission begins its exercise, it will take at least one month time to complete the poll process for the Panchayat elections. Till January, the official machinery and the villagers will be busy with Panchayat elections. Later, the State government has to conduct polls for Cooperative Societies in February .

The EC will also conduct MLC elections for Graduates and Teachers constituencies in March/April.
The grand finale  will be the Lok Sabha elections, for which preparation will begin from around February.
