Richa Gangopadhyay, on 'Shortcut Romeo'

I just signed this film and director Susi Ganesan was surprised to know that I had already worked in Tamil and Telugu.

It's double bonanza for Richa Gangopadhyay, the heroine of 'Osthi' and Mayakkam Enna. The actress, who recently did a photoshoot with Sunder Ramu, who is also her co-star in 'Mayakkam Enna', says, "I still have one more day of shoot left for 'Osthi'. So, I hope it will all get over by November end.”

The interesting part is that even before her first two Tamil films hits the screens,  the actress has already signed a Hindi project, 'Shortcut Romeo'. The film is to be directed by our very own Tamil director, Susi Ganesan of 'Kanthasamy' fame.

Sources meanwhile disclose that 'Shortcut Romeo' is a remake of 'Thiruttu Payale'.

Says the actress excitedly, “It's my debut film in Hindi. I play the role of Sonia Agarwal. It is completely different from the other roles that I have played in my Tamil films. I just signed this film and director Susi Ganesan was surprised to know that I had already worked in Tamil and Telugu. He thought I was a budding Bollywood actress.”

Richa will pair opposite Neil Nithin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel in this film.

Talking about her Tamil films, she says, “Both my films were supposed to be Deepavali releases but due to certain reasons, the release dates got changed. I'm actually waiting for this double dhamaka, as I play contrasting roles in both 'Osthi' and 'Mayakkam Enna'. While in 'Mayakkam Enna', I play the role of an independent woman, in 'Osthi', I play a charming village belle. My role is an extended version of what Sonakshi Sinha played in 'Dabaang', the Hindi version of 'Osthi'. My expressions are subtle yet powerful. I got a lot of opportunity to emote with my eyes.”

Apart from this, she will also be seen in a Telugu film, opposite Prabhas, directed by Koratala Siva, the shooting of which will start by the end of this month.
