Dr Rajasekhar, who is best known for his action-packed roles as a cop in films like ‘Ankusham’, will soon be seen again donning the hat of an honest cop in his upcoming film ‘Mahankali’.
Directed by his better half, Jeevitha, this film revolves around the life of an encounter cop, who is trying to make control terrorism in the city. “I play a police officer in plain clothes, who’s constantly trying to eliminate terrorism for a better society. And, we have spoken to various real life cops to make sure that this film does not have any larger than life characters,” he explains.
The actor believes that his role in ‘Mahankali’ is very different. “After I watched ‘Ankusham’, I thought that I kind of overacted in the film. So, in ‘Mahankali’, I wanted to make sure that I play it just right. I wanted the audiences to come and feel like they are watching a real life story with a real life cop,” accepts Rajasekhar.
He wants to inspire youngsters and people in the government services, especially the police force.
Doctor vs Cop
Dr Rajasekhar, who had done MBBS, before making an entry in the world of films, clearly breaks the myth that actors do not have impressive education backgrounds. While he gets into the skin of a cop onscreen, Rajasekhar practices medicine offscreen. “I used to practice in allopathic medicine earlier, but after a series of unfortunate diseases that took away some certain close people from my life, I decided to explore alternative therapy,” recalls the doctor-turned-actor.
Alternative medicine
Dr Rajasekhar believes that there is no such thing as an incurable disease. “Even though allopathic medicine may not have the answer to many fatal diseases, alternative therapies like Homeopathy, Dr Bach Flower Therapy and Schuessler’s medicine will surely cure any disease,” claims the doctor, who is not only doing a course in alternative therapies, but also practicing it on a regular basis. “Alternative medicines are like ‘amrutham’ — I believe that and people who have experienced will surely vouch for it,” signs off Rajasekhar.
'Mahankali' is expected to hit the screens on November 25 or in the first week of December.
