She ruled the roost in K-Town with several blockbusters to her credit and was last seen in Gautam Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram in 2008. Now, she is back with a bang! Yes, Simran will soon be seen on the small screen as the new anchor of Jackpot, a popular game show on Jaya TV. The show, which has been a household name for the past 10 years, was previously hosted by Khushboo and then Nadia. Simran, who has had prior TV experience with Simran Thirai, a tele serial, is confident that she will definitely strike a chord with the audience. Yet, being a reality show anchor can be quite a unique experience. Says the actress, “With gorgeous pattu sarees, a variety of accessories, beautiful costumes and the opportunity to speak in Tamil, I think it is great opportunity to connect with the masses by being on a show which has been so popular.”

The actress has been shuttling between the big screen and the small screen for a while. But she says, “It is a challenge that I love.” When asked about her presence on the big screen, she says, “Right now, I am concentrating on Jackpot.  I will be very choosy about the films I do because it has to be a challenging script and a good role to take up, rather than just anything that comes my way.”

Jackpot is going to take up a lot of her time, for sure. On balancing work with family, the actress says, “I also have a house here in Chennai and will keep shuttling between Mumbai and Chennai.” And politics? “Not now,” she replies swiftly.
