Aisshwarya Nag who is always up for any challenges when it comes to her roles is apparently excited to be working with director T S Nagabharana whom she considers as one of the pioneering directors in the Kannada film industry. Upbeat about playing the title character Vasundhara, Aisshwarya said. “Playing the title role in a movie is quite rare for a heroine and I am thrilled to have the opportunity of be working with an award-winning director. It is a like a stepping stone for me,” she expressed. According to the actress, Vasundhara is a commercial film for the masses. “The story is based on terrorism and its media portrayal. My character has three shades — bubbly, sober and aggressive. As of now I can only reveal this much about the movie,” she said.
The film is special because she is associated with a director with whom her mother Prashanti Nayak had worked with. “My mother is more than happy that I am working with a noted director like Nagabharana. “ she said. Presently, Aisshwarya has taken a break after completing the shoot for a couple of films like Chilla Pilli and Loosegalu. “I am now taking time to promote my films. In the meantime, I had four offers out of which I opted for the best.
She was picked up for this role without auditioning. “He had seen a couple of my previous flicks and thought I was perfect for the role. His belief is my inspiration,” she said.
