The Navarasa fashion show

It was an evening of glamour and glitz as the models sashayed down the catwalk flaunting the creations of ace designer Rehane Yavar Dhala. The Navarasa fashion show at Gold Souk had nine theme based rounds with brisk designs in nine shades.

The show held in connection with the cast and crew launch of Hollywood project DAM 999 was inspired by the ancient concept of navarasas, the nine emotions. The show started with chic grey designs representing karunya (compassion) and moved on to delightful pinks that stood for hasya (mirth).

Then followed the other seven shades showcasing the other rasas - soothing greens for sringara (love), furious reds for roudra (anger), sinister blues for bhibalsa (disgust), solid blacks for bhayanaka (horror), zestful browns for veera (heroic), warm yellows for adbutha (wonder) and serine white for shanta (tranquility).

Our lensman Jipson Sikhera captures the best frames of the show.
