Mumbai — Dilip Mehta, brother of filmmaker Deepa Mehta, has been inspired to make a documentary on actress Sunny Leone. He shot with Leone and her husband Daniel Weber, who is set to make his debut in Hindi with “Dangerous Husn,” over 18 months and the film is now in the editing stage.

The film will be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016 and narrates the saga of the Canadian-born Sikh, who was studying to be a pediatric nurse when she was introduced to the photographer of a women’s magazine.

Leone later went into the porn industry and ruled for almost a decade. In that capacity, she took part in reality show “Bigg Boss” on Aap Ka Colors in India, and Mahesh Bhatt introduced her as a Bollywood actress in “Jism 2.”

Today, she is a popular actress, and according to the Times Celebex Poll 2014, the most searched Indian woman on the internet.

Dilip is the creative producer of “Midnight’s Children” and “Earth,” as well as the associate producer of “Water”; all three films are directed by his sister Deepa.

His directorial credits include the 2009 comedy drama “Cooking with Stella” and the 2008 documentary “The Forgotten Woman,” a film about Indian widows abandoned by their families upon the death of their husbands.
