Meet this Mangalore belle Yagna Shetty who is set to make other heroines in Sandalwood to run for their money. It is not that Yagna has become overconfident of her talent or has a Godfather in Kannada film industry. Yagna made debut a few years ago with the film `Ondu Preethiya Kathe'. It was released at Menaka theatre in Bangalore but was withdrawn from the theatre before Kannada cine buffs come to know about it. However, Yagna was not responsible for that film's failure at the box office. Unfortunately, she received no offer from any producer or director for almost two years.
However, it was director Guru Prasad who asked her to play heroine opposite to Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh in the film `Yeddelu Manjunatha'.
Again it took more than two years for `Yeddelu Manjunatha' to be released at the theatres. Meanwhile, she got the chance to act in `Love Guru' as one of the
heroines. The other heroine is Radhika Pandit.
Recently, Yagna's two films `Love Guru' and `Yeddelu Manjunatha' released across Karnataka on the same day. Ask Yagna's reaction on the release of two films, she says: ``It is not in my hands. I can't ask the producer or director to postpone the release of one of the films. I had put up my maximum efforts in both the films. Now, it is up to the audience to accept or reject my films''.
Does she like both of her films to become a huge hit at the box office? ``Why not?. I will be a happiest heroine if the audience accept both the films. I would like
both the films to taste the success at the box office,'' says Yagna with a smile.
Yagna played as solo heroine in `Yeddelu Manjunatha', and as a second heroine in `Love Guru'. Does Yagna feel comfortable while playing as second heroine? ``I give importance to the script. I was very much comfortable while acting in `Love Guru'. I will have no problems to accept such roles in future provided those suit my image,'' clarifies Yagna.
Has she ever faced embarassment or ill-treatment on the sets? ``I like to work the the unit members who treat me well. The moment I come to know that the atmosphere not conducive, I will not hesitate to walk out of the shooting,'' adds Yagna who has passed MCA with second rank.
