BANGALORE: Director Om Saiprakash’s latest film Sri Nagashakti is all set to hit the silver screen on November 19. Prakash is making a comeback after a gap of more than a year with the film, whereas, actress Chandrika will return to the Sandalwood after about a decade.

Apart from producing the film, Chandrika also makes a guest appearance in this devotional saga aimed at the women audience.

“I am acting in a Kannada movie after a gap of 10 years. My last film was Janamechida Maga. I was also the producer of the action-packed movie Wanted, in which I was paired opposite Shashi Kumar in the lead role,” says Chandrika.

She had also acted in a Tamil film with Napolean,  who is now a Union Minister.

“The movie was titled Maniratnam. It was a nice experience. I am very happy to know that Napolean is now a Union Minister,” says Chandrika with a smile.

What made Chandrika to produce the film?

“I was one of the judges for the reality show Sai on Suvarna TV. The programme became popular and so I thought of making a comeback. A few producers and directors offered me roles, but I did not find them apt,” explains Chandrika.

Recalling how director Om Saiprakash was instrumental in introducing her as heroine in the film Thaayigobba Tharlemaga, Chandrika said: “I discussed with director Saiprakash my desire to produce a Kannada film. He told me about Sri Nagashakti. Its script was interesting and I agreed not only to produce this film but also to make a guest appearance.”

Ramkumar, Shashi, Baby Kritika and Tennis Krishna are the other star casts.
