Ramya joins Youth Congress

The actress has announced that she would formally join the Youth Congress on April 19.

BANGALORE: Kannada film actress Ramya is all set to enter state politics and is likely to formally join Youth Congress on Tuesday. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwar informed this to Express on Monday. "Reports are true and she may join the party tomorrow [Tuesday] by accepting the membership," he said.

Reportedly, the actress had met All India Congress Committee general secretary Rahul Gandhi and expressed desire to join the party.

The news of Ramya joining the Congress has evoked enthusiasm in the party circles and is likely to inspire many youngsters to follow suit. Ramya has acted in several hit Kannada films such as 'Jothe Jotheyali', 'Amruthadhaare' and 'Gowramma'. She has acted in a few Tamil and Telugu movies too.
