BANGALORE: Good news for the Challenging Star Darshan’s fans. His latest film, ‘Boss’ is slated for release on January 14. Darshan has played a double role while Navya Nair and Rekha are the heroines.

Shivaji Prabhu can be seen playing a key role in this movie. The movie is Prabhu’s first Kannada venture. It is said that Sudharani’s brother Murali has dubbed the dialogues for Prabhu.

Darshan was signed for ‘Boss’ more than two years ago and the shooting was completed more than 10 months ago. The release has also been postponed more than five times. At last, the movie is all set to be released on January 14.

It is a coincidence that Darshan’s movie is the first big-budget movie to be released last year as well as this year. Last year, his movie ‘Porki’ was released in January. It was a remake of the Telugu movie ‘Pokkiri’, directed by Poori Jagannath. The Kannada version was directed by MD Sridhar, who handled the megaphone for the successful movie ‘Friends’.

Ramesh Yadav is the producer.

But the bad news is that Vijay-starred big-budget movie ‘Kanteerava’ will not be released on January 14. Its release has been postponed to January 21.

Perhaps to avoid competition between Kannada films, producer Ramu has agreed to defer the release of ‘Kanteerava’ by a week.

‘Kanteerava’ is the remake of Telugu movie ‘Simhaadri’ in which Junior NTR played the lead role while Bhumika and Ankitha were the heroines.

In ‘Kanteerava’, Shubha Punja and Rishika Singh are the heroines while Rahul Dev is the villain.
