BANGALORE: Roopal Tyagi, known for her performance in tele-serials was recently in Bangalore to showcase a new bridal collection for a store. Roopal has acted in many tele-serials  like Vivaah, Gunjan Roli and Dil Mil Gaye and will now be seen acting in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke.

When City Express interacted with Roopal Tyagi, she spoke at length about her future plans, her memorable experiences in Bangalore city and journey from a choreographer to an actress.

Roopal who started her career as a choreographer assisting Pony Verma, is now looking for opportunities to act in the South Indian film industry.

Speaking about her plans of bagging more roles in tele-serials, she said, “I love dancing any day rather than choreography. Initially while choreographing the songs, I faced lot of difficulties. It was sheer hard work to hire the staff and to build contacts in the industry. Later, I wanted to prove myself as an actress. Now I think, I am a better actress than a dancer or a choreographer.”

Roopal who was born and raised in Bangalore, moved to Mumbai in search of opportunities and shaping a

career in choreography. Presently, she is on a visit to South Indian cities to build contacts with producers and directors. Is she acting in any

South Indian films now?

“Nothing concrete so far. I’m looking forward to grabbing an opportunity that will give me a good platform to build my career and showcase my

talent,” she added.

When asked about her plans to act in Bollywood films, she said, “I would like to go step-by-step. My concentration now lies in my upcoming tele-serial Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and South Indian films. After gaining enough experiences here, then I would consider acting in Bollywood cinema.” Sharing her memorable experiences in Bangalore, Roopal said, “The city is calm and peaceful compared to cities like Mumbai and Delhi. People are warm, down-to-earth and are most hospitable. I always love to drive on the roads of Bangalore, because it is more of fun and hardly stressful.”

“One among my favourite dishes prepared in South India is Bisibelebath. I also love a dish prepared with cabbage which blends well with coconut, but I am unfamiliar with the name,” she signed off with a smile.
