This time around, director R Chandru will only produce the film and Tejas, who assisted him in Taj Mahal, Prem Kahani and Charminar will make his debut as director. About producing the movie under his production house, R Chandru movies, he said, “I had told myself that if my film Charminar wins, I will give chance to new directors. Since I have seen his work, I am sure that he will do a good job. Anyway the script is mine.”

Interestingly the film Male (Rain) has a tagline, Bisilina Kathe (Hot story). “It is a beautiful love story of modern days and not based on any incident. This story is my own imagination. I was supposed to start it before Charminar, but could not proceed. Now I have left the responsibility to Tejas,” he explained.

The Male team is planning to rope in Amulya opposite Prem. “We have already spoken to Amulya but she might take time to confirm because of date problems. In case, she falls out, we will rope in a Kannada actress. Actor Prem, who had a recent release, Chandra, is now gearing up for his next film, Shatru, in which he dons the role of a cop.
