Prajna is More than Just a Pretty Face

A Sharadhaa

For actress Prajna, there is more to life than just being a glam doll on silver screen. The young lass, who is celebrating her birthday today, is also launching an event management company called Live Spotlight Events on the occasion.

Prajna decided to start the company after she successfully organised Yuva Dasara this October. “I knew I had the skills and I could prove it at the Sandalwood Night conducted on October 2 in Mysuru. I handled the event all by myself and I had stars like Darshan, Ragini Dwivedi, Nidhi Subbaiah among others at the venue. After the show, I got a couple of calls from people who asked if I was keen on taking up more events. That’s when I decided to start something on my own. I guess Yuva Dasara gave me the platform to turn into an entrepreneur,” explains Prajna, who will be working with a team of 15-20 people to run shows in the future.

“I am gearing up for some corporate events, Sandalwood nights, themed parties and weddings. I have so many offers waiting that I can keep myself busy for the next two years. I should be able to make each event a memorable one,” Prajna adds.

The actress started her career as a child artiste in Kaivara Thathaiah and debuted as a heroine in Baaba when she was in class 9. However, in the span of seven years, she chose to be part of only six films that included Ganesha Mathe Banda and Kencha Preethse Preethse. Now, she has taken a break from movies, not to pursue event management, but to complete her graduation and learn Bharatanatyam.

“At 22, I should not be in a hurry to scorch the screen. I always felt guilty about discontinuing my studies and my dance practice. So I chose to go back to those things. I have completed my BA and will be taking up senior exams in Bharatanatyam. I will still do films, provided they meet my expectations. If I can bring out an event all by myself, I am sure I can shine on silver screen. I should just wait for that one good break,” she says.
