Director Nagshekar knows the importance of time. So, when his multilingual project got pushed further to June next year, he jumped onto the director’s chair for a film with Duniya Vijay. Titled Maasti Gudi, it comes with a tagline - Gandadagudi part 3. Interestingly, the director was given a one-liner by Vijay and he was supposed to develop only the screenplay.

“I was waiting for the producer of Gadiyaara, my multilingual project, to give me a green signal. Meanwhile, I had the time to develop the one-liner given by Vijay. They had thought of roping in another director. But when they got to know about my schedule, they were keen that I direct the film. They felt that since I have a strong hold on the story, it was best that I helm the project,” Nagshekar explains.

The film, which revolves around a real life incident which took place  at Mastigudi temple near the Kabini dam, will be produced by Duniya Vijay’s friends, Sundar P Gowda and Anil Kumar V. The makers have planned a muhurat on January 14. “The temple is always submerged in water, but during summer, once a year, as water recedes, it emerges. It is said that this particular god protects the forest and the people there. The story is weaved around a particular incident which took place there in 2006, which has a sweet love story,” he says.

Sadhu Kokila has been roped in as the music director while Sathya Hegde will be the cinematographer. He is search of two heroines for the film. “The range around Bandipur,

Nagarhole and Biligiri Rangan Betta is filled with tigers and other animals. Save tigers, save the forest and save animals is the motto of the film," he says and adds that while it is difficult to have animals in films, he is either trying to bring in trained animals or will mostly rely on computer graphics. “Today, technology has grown and we can capture the graphics very well, which I will be using to the fullest,” he says.
