MYSURU:  Veteran actor Chetan Rama Rao who rendered service for five decades in Sandalwood passed away here on Saturday following heart attack. He is survived by wife Parvathi, daughters  Kalavathi, Vanishree and Geetha. 

He was 76. A resident of TK Layout, Chetan Rama Rao was ill for the last seven months. 
Two months ago, as he was unable to foot the hospital bill, he discontinued the treatment. On Saturday, he complained of chest pain and died while being rushed to hospital. 

Rama Rao, a native of Sindaghatta village in  Mandya district, acted in more than 350 films and was conferred with Rajyothsava award in 2008.
