Producer and distributor Ramu, who has taken the rights of the Tamil film, Rajini Murugan has given a very interesting title,
Raj-Vishnu, a combination of Sandalwood legends — Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan. However, the filmmaker does not divulge the reason for the title of the comedy-drama. “I can only reason out the title once I have the final script of the Kannada version in my hand,” he says.
The Tamil version has a character played by Achyuth Kumar who is a big Rajinikanth fan. How it is modified for the Kannada audience to represent Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan in the film is yet to be known.
Ramu, meanwhile, has made sure not to make a frame by frame adaptation of the Tamil version in Kannada. Instead, he has roped writer and director Janardhan Maharshi, who has developed on the film keeping just the soul of the story. Ramu says, “Janardhan, who was the writer for films like Akash and Arasu was also involved in the script of Telugu film Eega. He has now developed the story for Raj-Vishnu, which has blended well with our nativity. The film in Kannada will be more hilarious and we are making sure there is entertainment from start to end,” he says.
Another interesting fact is that senior actor Ambareesh will play grandfather to Sharan in the film and he will be seen in a Gowdru get up. The makers, who are yet to finalise on the heroine have apparently approached
Rachita Ram and if dates work out, she will be finalised. “The film will also see the hit combination of Sharan-Chikkanna again with Ravi Shankar playing the antoganist. We have Sadhu Kokila among others in the starcast,” says Ramu.
With the makers roping in Arjun Janya as the music director, they plan to go on floors from March 18.
