Darshan as Tarak is an American footballer

Actor essays title role in Prakash Jayaram’s directorial; movie is a family entertainer and has hero in lovewith the game

A Sharadhaa

Fluorescent jersey No 7, shoulder pads, winged headgear... going by Darshan’s first look in Tarak, we can expect a fan frenzy for the actor’s never-before-seen American footballer avatar.

In his last two movies, Jaggu Dada and Chakravarthy, we saw him as a rough-living underworld don.

Darshan

Directed by Prakash Jayaram, this film is a family entertainer and Darshan  has a slot as an American football player.

He sports a cropped haircut and neatly thinned beard, and is bound to create a topic for conversations in Sandalwood.

We hear that the actor, who plays the title role of Tarak, underwent training sessions with football coach Satish, who has been training a team in Bengaluru that recently took part in a tournament held in Sri Lanka.

The first look was put together by the director along with Abhi Designs, and coach Satish sourced authentic football clothing and helmet seen in the photo.

The team has wrapped up the shoot and post- production work is on in full swing.

While the background score for the film will be worked on from August 11, the audio launch is likely to take place sometime in the second week of August. Tarak has been scheduled for a festive release during Dasara.

This is the first time Prakash Jayaram will be working with Darshan. Produced by Dushyanth, the movie features Sruthi Hariharan and Shanvi Srivastava as female leads, and has Devaraj playing an important role.

The film has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by AV Krishnakumar.
