Pushpaka Vimana goes to Oscars on its own steam

Ramesh Aravind’s 100th film Pushapaka Vimana is much in conversations closer to its release date, and the makers share an exciting news with City Express. S Ravindranath’s debut will make a lateral entry into the Oscars this year for the ‘The best adapted screenplay in foreign language’ category. 


“Company Hindiwoods has agreed to promote  Pushpaka Vimana as an Oscar Nominee,” says the movie’s producer Vikyath. “The film will be censored and screened in New York and the first round of recommendation will be sent  sometime in March this year, after which the competition begins.

The whole expense including for publicity and content will cost around ` 20 lakh to the company, and Hindiwoods will bear all of that.”

According to Vikyath, only bridge films will be considered for Oscar nominations. 
The film’s director, in his interview with City Express, said that he was adapting the screenplay of the Korean film, Miracle of Cell No 7  for Pushapaka Vimana.  


Apart from Ramesh Aravind, the film also features child artiste Yuvina Parthavi and Rachita Ram with Juhi Chawla making a guest appearance. The film has music by Charan Raj and camerawork by 
Bhuvan Gowda.
