Lohith H who made a name for himself with his first horror thriller Mummy - Save Me has made a deliberate choice with his second film. He continues with his tryst with the thriller genre, with
Howrah Bridge.

This bilingual, being made in Kannada and Tamil, brings together the director and actor Priyanka Upendra again. The suspense thriller is being currently being shot in Kolkata.

The filmmakers started shooting last week of September and it is nearly 40 per cent complete. It is progressing at a rigorous pace, with various artistes including those from Bollywood shooting day and night.

The team has shared a few shots from the sets with City Express, and it gives us a glimpse into its making. Lohit says, “We started with the rain shots, which were captured on Howrah Bridge with Priyanka and with 150 junior artistes”. The director is excited to have shot at a rare location, at South Park Cementary.

“Howrah Bridge will be the first south Indian film to be shot at this place. I heard a Satyajit Ray’s son Sandip Ray shot  his film here and Amitabh Bachchan’s T3n was also shot here. It is not a regular cementary, and has a 215-year-old history behind it, and it was once maintained by the Britishers,” says Lohit.

“We have even used drones to capture scenes through aerial shots, which is again a first.  We got the permission and shots have come out well”.

The film will also feature Priyanka’s daughter Aishwarya ,along with Bollywood actor Sanjeev Jaiswal, who has been roped in to play a pivotal role.

Howrah Bridge has cinematography by Venu and music by Nobin Paul, for lyrics written Madan Bellisaalu.
