Actor Munshi Venu, known for his stint on Asianet’s social satire show ‘Munshi’, is no more. The actor, 63, was ailing from kidney-related ailments for some time. He breathed his last at a palliative care centre in Chalakkudy in Thrissur district on Thursday.

According to reports, the actor, who hails from Thiruvananthapuram, was unmarried and was staying at a lodge in Chalakkudy for some time. He was hospitalised after people found him roaming on the streets in poor health. He was said to be reeling under severe financial constraints.

Venu, who began his career with Munshi, went on to act in many films, including  ‘Chota Mumbai’, ‘Thilakkam’, ‘Kadha Parayumbol’, ‘Utopiyayile Rajavu’ and ‘Pachakuthira’.

His comic performance in ‘Chotta Mumbai’ and ‘Thilakkam’ earned him a space in the industry. But with his health deteriorating, the actor found it hard to get work.

Prominent actors like Dulquer Salman and Aju Varghese condoled his death on Facebook.
