'Rama Rama Raghurama' (Kannada, Comedy)

Director: Raghuraj

Cast: Rangayana Raghu, Doddanna, Achyuth Kumar, Sadhu Kokila, Sangeetha, Sunder Raj, Shobaraj

This would be the first film that Rangaayana Raghu has bagged the lead role. Raghu is known for playing a variety of roles. However, it is a tad bit late to see Raghu as the hero on the silver screen. With poor physique and a weak script, his career graph seems to be taking a major dip.

The selection of artistes in the film too is far from satisfactory. For instance, there is no synchronization between artistes Raghu and heroine Lakshmi Sharma in this film. The same is the case with Sunderraj and Sangeetha who play a couple in ‘Rama Rama Raghurama’.

As far as Raghu’s performance is considered, he has done a fine job. His dialogue delivery and mannerisms, especially his mimicry of late Shankar Nag and super star Rajanikant, are commendable. ‘Rama Rama Raghurama’ is about Raghuram (Rangaayana Raghu), an honest police constable who has several issues at the police station as well as home. While Parandhamaiah (Doddanna), a head constable, harasses him at the police station, his brother  (Sunderraj) and brother-in-law (Sadhu Kokila) make his life miserable by insisting him to earn more money.

Meanwhile, circumstances compel Raghuram to go to a hospital for a medical checkup. Doctor informs him that he has brain tumour. Raghuram’s brother-in-law forces him to get Rs 25 lakh as a dowry for marrying his sister. He wants to end his life by taking up difficult and dangerous assignments. His intention was to earn Rs 25 lakh as compensation for his brother-in-law if the former died while on duty.

In a bizarre twist of fate, the more he tries to end his life the more positive things happen to him. Doddanna has shown some fine acting skills, and Shobaraj is also convincing as a villain.

However, Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash failed to impress the audience.
