'Kempegowda' (Kannada, Action)

‘Kempegowda’ is a remake of the Tamil box-office hit ‘Singam’. Director-cum-hero Sudeep has faithfully followed the original version while handling the megaphone for the Kannada version.
Apart from putting in his best efforts as an actor, Sudeep has handled the megaphone like an experienced director as well. His dialogue delivery, gestures and acting skills are a treat to watch for his hard-core fans. A few upcoming heroes have also participated in a song sequence. As far as the technical team’s contribution is concerned, it is cinematographer Krishna and art director Arun Sagar who walks away with all the honours.
Krishna has done a neat job behind the camera while picturising the song sequences. It is quite surprising to see, Venky, who made his debut as a hero with ‘Orata I Love You’ and acted as a solo hero in a few movies, playing small character role. Perhaps, it is the first time that Tara has minimum dialogues and the credit must go to the director Sudeep for having a total control over this talkative artiste.
Although Girish Karnad has only a limited role in this movie, his dialogues have the punch. Ravi Shankar has once again proved his mettle. Earlier, he acted in ‘Kote’, in which Prajwal Devaraj played the lead role.
The movie is about Kempe Gowda (Sudeep), sub-inspector at Ron police station. He respects those who respect the law. Circumstances compel Gowda to embarrass Armugam (Ravishankar), an anti-social element, for threatening people at Ron village.
Unable to digest the embarrassment, Armugam influences the Home Minister to transfer Gowda to Magadi Road Police Station in Bangalore. His intention is to take revenge on Gowda.
Ragini has done a neat job. She is very good in the song sequences. Sharan makes audience giggle for a while with his performance. The movie is worth watching and also proves to be a family entertainer with a number of scenes loaded with sentiment.
