His debut film 'Odipolama' released on Christmas Day and actor Parimal can’t stop gushing about it. “The response is quite decent and it had a good opening. I’m happy with the feedback,” he says.

After 'Odipolama' the actor has zeroed in on a script but is yet to commit. So what made him choose 'Odipolama'? “Director Kanmani narrated the suspense before the interval and I felt the film has a lot of twists. They (director and producer) required someone ordinary with boy-next-door looks. I had to match the 19-year-old look and so I lost weight,” says the 21-year-old hero, who is adept in dancing.

Parimal is in all praise of his co-star Sandhya. “She is fabulous and helped me a lot with the dialogues. I wouldn’t say we’re best friends as we met three weeks prior to shooting,” adds Parimal, grandson of veteran producer Balan and the brother of actress Sangeetha. Did his sister give him any acting tips? “No. I haven’t got any tips from her. (Sangeetha already acted under Kanmani’s direction in a Telugu movie). My sister told me the director would give you all the direction and motivation you need. I had to put a lot of effort for the movie,” says the actor.

With a lot of youngsters in the field how does he face competition? “If you have stuff you can sustain and then there’s nothing called competition. I’m happy that my debut film was a comedy. I would love to do action roles, but before that I have to look convincing to myself on screen, as I’m very lean now. I would love to do any genre,” adds the actor, who is open to feedback and is seeking constructive criticism. With the dedication and professionalism the young hero demonstrates, we are sure this one will be around for a long time to come.
