Filmmaker Rajesh Touchriver, who earlier won several awards for his documentary `Anamika- The Nameless’ has come up with two thought-provoking short films `Needalu’ in Telugu and `Main aur meri Sachchaiyan’ in Hindi.

Both are being produced by Hyderabad-based NGO `Prajwala’. The Telugu film traces the journey of a victim of trafficking from an insider’s perspective in which the protagonist shares with the audience the world of prostitu- tion, organized crime, perverse clientele and tor- ture. The short film aims at prompting people to become advocates to influence public policy in checking to such instances.

It has Sree Mani, Sravana Jyothi and Sunil Raghav as the main cast.

While the second film is about a young woman in prostitution and addresses the aspects of stigma, discrimination that women in prostitution are subjected to. Nayani Dixit, Sunil Raghav, Sravana Jyothi play the lead cast. Vijay Kurakula scores music for both the films.
