Finally, the list of Diwali releases has been confirmed and most likely, it’s a sort of disappointment for Vijay fans as his ‘Vettaikaran’ wouldn’t release for this festive occasion. Surya’s ‘Aadhavan’, ‘Jeyam’ Ravi starrer ‘Peraanmai’ and Namitha’s ‘Jaganmohini’ will be the only releases for this season.
Producer Udayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies has planned to release ‘Aadhavan’ in around 250-300 theatres in Tamil Nadu alone. The film will be an action-packed family entertainer where Surya enacts the role of contract killer assigned to bump off a family. But sooner, he becomes more affectionate with the family. Nayanthara does the female lead with K.S. Ravikumar wielding the megaphone.
‘Jeyam’ Ravi starrer ‘Peraanmai’ is directed by SP Jananathan. The film is about a one man war against group of foreigners, who have planned to deteriorate the entire forest.
Namitha’s ‘Jaganmohini’ is a remake of yesteryear film with same title. The remake version features Raja, Namitha and Nila in lead roles with Vadivelu taking care of comedy sequences.
