Harris on the edge, a concert in which music director Harris Jayaraj sang and performed live for the first time, left fans delighted and craving for more at the Mayajaal on Saturday. The concert, which had 3D visuals,  saw Harris render a number of songs from different genres. The state-of-the-art facilities at the venue only added to the effect of the already impressive music.

Clearly, the day belonged to the musician, whose music left every soul present at the venue pleased.  The event also bore witness to the strengthening of friendship between director Gautham Menon and Harris Jayaraj.

Although the two had earlier decided to part ways, Gautham Menon turned up at the event to express his solidarity. What’s more, the Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya director, who was the first man to be on stage, delivered the welcome address and  introduced the music composer  to the audience. Dressed like a futuristic Roman centurion, Harris Jayaraj moved to the beat of his opening number, Adiyae Koluthey..., his choreography and vocals complementing the synthesised sound. He remained the showman and rendered a few mesmerising hits like Nangai from Engeyum Kadhal, Kalyanam thaan Kattikittu from Samy and Ennemo Yedho from the latest hit, Ko.

Singers who joined the music director on stage included Benny Dayal, Naresh Iyer, Suchitra, Rahul Nambiar, Pop singer Shalini, Harish Raghavendra, Devan and Andrea. The surprise element of the show was the 3D visuals that were screened during the rendition of the song, Andan Kaka Kondakaari... from Anniyan.

With director Vijay handling direction, the show was perfect and came to a close at exactly 10.30 pm. Even as Harris thanked everyone for making the show a success, the audience made it clear that they wanted more. With a smile on his face, Harris promised to meet everyone again in Coimbatore, where his next concert is to be held on October 16.
