The process of filing the nominations for the elections to the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) came to a close on September 27. Those willing to contest the elections filed their applications at the Council’s office. Applications were received only till 6pm.
SA Chandrasekhar and Director KR are contesting for the post of President in the Tamil Film Producers Council while Sathyajothi and T Shiva, and Pushpa Kandaswamy and Radhakrishnan will contest for the Vice President posts. AM Ratnam and Muralidharan, and KRJ and Thenappan will be contesting for the secretary posts. Also, Anbalaya Prabhakaran and Dhaanu will contest the treasurer posts.
Nearly, 774 memebers of the council will be casting their votes. Also, the election is to select 21 members for the executive committee. On the occasion, KR said, “Those who would like to withdraw their nominations can do so from September 28 to September 30 by 4pm.” The final list of contestants will be released on September 30 and the polling will take place from 9 am to 4.30 pm on October 9.
