Kumki wins hearts at Norwegian Festival

There seems to be no end to the accolades for Kumki and Vazhakku Enn 18/9 — the films had a field day at the Norway Tamil Film Festival, bagging several awards. Kumki’s team has walked away with three awards — Best Director (Prabhu Solomon), Best Actress (Lakshmi Menon) and Best Music Director (D Imman).

The best movie award went to teen crime thriller Vazhakku Enn 18/9, directed by Balaji Shaktivel that starred Mithun Murali, Sri, Urmila Mahanta and Manisha Yadav. It also bagged the Best Film (Tamil) Award at the National Awards as well. As part of international accolades, the flick received immense appreciation at the SAFF (South Asia film festival) held in Paris recently.

The top winners at the Norway Film Festival also included Vikram who was awarded with the Kalai Sigaram Award (Jury Special Award) and Suriya, winning the Kalai Sigaram (Peoples choice) Award. Actor Vijay Sethupathy bagged the Best Actor Award for the comedy caper Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom.

The Norway Tamil Film Festival is held every year and is an occasion where the Tamil and the Norwegian film industries meet.
