Amala Paul to replace Sam in Vada Chennai ?

S Subhakeerthana

If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Amala Paul, who was last seen in Amma Kannakku (2016), will play an important role in the Dhanush-starrer Vada Chennai, which was originally intended for Samantha. “Though talks are on and she’s yet to sign the dotted line, if all goes well, Amala Paul will be a part of the film,” says a source.

Samantha, who’s rumoured to get engaged to Naga Chaitanya this year, is said to have backed out of the much-anticipated project of award-winning director Vetri Maaran, due to personal commitments. Vada Chennai, a trilogy, will track the life of a gangster in different stages for 30 years in North Chennai. We also hear that the film is inspired by a real-life story. Starring Andrea, Samuthirakani and Daniel Balaji in pivotal roles, this will mark the third collaboration with Vetrimaaran, and is being produced by Dhanush’s banner Wunderbar Films.
