Express News Service

Deekshitha, who plays the female lead opposite Irfan in the upcoming Tamil film Aagam, says she believes in the movie’s message. The film deals with the issue of intelligent, educated youngsters leaving the country for lucrative careers and more comfortable lifestyles abroad.

“Being a computer science engineer, I have seen the craze among my peers to go abroad and work. Initially, my ambition was the same, but my parents refused to let me go. I was upset with them, but now realise that I was wrong. Aagam bought this change in me. I’m sure it will impact every viewer,” says the actor.

Talking about her role in the film, the Deekshitha says, “I play Janani, a character close to my heart. It will be an intense role with ample scope to showcase my potential as an actor. Working with senior artistes was a blessing. JP sir is an encyclopedia, Riaz sir gave me many tips on fitness. Irfan, my co-star, was friendly and helpful. We knew each other from school as we were in the same dance school. He is an excellent dancer and works hard. I’m sure Aagam will take him to great heights.”
