After making his mark in films such as Chennai 600028, Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai, Sundarapandian and Rummy, actor Inigo Prabhakaran will next star in Pichuvakaththi, a romantic actioner directed by debutant Ayyappan, who had worked previously assisted Sundar C. The director says, “The film is about three men who, under the influence of alcohol, get into trouble and get taken to the local police station. In an attempt to get out of the issue, they get themselves into bigger trouble. How they manage it is what this commercial story is about.”
Ayyappan can’t praise Inigo enough. “He is perfect for the story. We needed someone to pull off a role with grey shades; I liked him a lot in Sundarapandian.” On the rest of the cast, the director says, “We have roped in Senguttuvan from Nanbargal Narpani Mandram for the second role. The heroine is Priyanka, who has previously been part of films like Kangaroo and Vandha Mala.”
Supporting actors in the film include a whole host of comedians like Ramesh Thilak, Balasaravanan, Kaali Venkat, Naan Kadavul Rajendran and Yogi Babu. Ayyappan adds, “Comedy is a big part of this film, but that said, the humour will not be forced.” The film, shot predominantly in Kumbakonam and Chennai, had its teaser released by Vijay Sethupathi recently, and is slated for a May end release.
