Kayal Chandran, who is awaiting the release of Party, has signed his next. Titled Naan Seidha Kurumbu, the film, bankrolled and directed by debutant Mahavishnu, is set to go on the floors on August 5.
Chandran says, “I am not at the liberty to reveal too much about this film, but I can assure you that the film’s storyline and treatment will be something that has never been attempted in Indian cinema before. The USP of the film will be revealed as part of the first look which will be launched on August 5.”
He also adds that the film will be a blend of a romcom and a thriller. “It’s a mixed genre film targeted at the family audience. Towards the second half, the viewers will feel like they are reading a novel,” he says, and clarifies that it will not bear any similarity to Daavu, his other upcoming film.
“Daavu is a fun film with a historical background. Rather than call it a romcom, I’d dub Daavu as a comedy entertainer.”With Chennai 2 Singapore-fame Anju Kurian playing the female lead, Naan Seidha Kurumbu also stars Mirchi Vijay and Urvashi.
