Vikram Kumar to direct Akhil Akkineni

Telugu actor Nagarjuna announced that Vikram Kumar will be directing his son Akhil Akkineni’s next film. Nag wrote on Twitter, “September rocks for me. Announcing films with two of my star directors.

Kalyan with Naga Chaitanya and Vikram Kumar with Akhil. On the floors very soon (sic).”

Akhil also tweeted, “Super excited about this project, which is very dear to my heart and Vikram has come up with something really exciting. Sorry for the delay. Hope it’s worth the wait (sic).” Vikram’s last directorial outing was Suriya’s science-fiction thriller 24 (2016). Sources say after Manam (2014), Nagarjuna wanted Vikram to work with his family members and thus,had asked Vikram to write a script which will suit Akhil.

Touted to be a love story, this will be produced by Annapurna Studios. Nagarjuna’s tweet hinted that Kalyan who directed Soggade Chinni Nayana (2016), will also direct a film with Naga Chaitanya soon!

Meanwhile, we hear Vikram will start shooting for this film post his wedding. He is all set to tie the knot with sound engineer Srinidhi on September 4.
