HYDERABAD: Looks like director Teja is determined to pull off a casting coup of sorts with his ambitious project NTR, a biopic on the legendary actor-politician. Starring Balakrishna, the film will apparently also feature Kajal Aggarwal in a crucial role. "Teja continues to get an exciting ensemble for the film and has offered late actor-politician Jayalalithaa’s role to Kajal. After thinking it over, she has agreed to do it and may start shooting for her portions by June," informs a source.
Rumour has it that Teja is also in negotiations with Rana Daggubati and Tamannah Bhatia to play other pivotal roles.
"Rana may play Chandra Babu Naidu and Tamannah is being considered for Jayaprada’s role. The makers are planning to rope in popular stars from the South and Bollywood to give the film a pan-Indian appeal," the source adds.
Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri are co-producing the film along with Balakrishna under the NBK Films banner. The principal shooting of the film, which has music by MM Keeravani, will begin on May 5 in a specially constructed set in Hyderabad.
Rangasthalam-fame Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre are the production designers of NTR, which will also be dubbed in Tamil and Hindi.
