Dhruv, son of popular South Indian actor ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram, is gearing up to make his Telugu debut with director Sekhar Kammula’s new project, billed to be a dance-based film.

“Kammula was impressed with the looks of Dhruv and was convinced that the 22-year-old would bring in a lot of freshness to the film. Vikram was also looking for a seasoned director who can give a perfect launch pad for his heir apparent. The discussions were fruitful and the duo has reached an agreement in principle to introduce Dhruv in Telugu cinema with this film that revolves around dance,” informs a source.

Known for introducing actors Nikhil, Varun Sandesh, Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi in Telugu, Kammula, who is also bankrolling this untitled film, will make an official announcement on the same in August.

Meanwhile, Dhruv, who is making his Tamil debut with Varma, the remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s new age dark comedy Arjun Reddy, has already earned a commendable following in Tamil Nadu. Incidentally, Dhruv’s maiden Tamil and Telugu films are being helmed by national-award winning directors – Bala and Kammula.

Now that the young actor is set to make inroads into Tollywood, Telugu fans of Vikram can’t wait to see how Dhruv performs here.
