I'm not there, anymore - Heath Ledger would have been 38 today

Heath Ledger was an Australian actor and director best known for his roles in films like 'Brokeback Mountain', '10 Things I hate About You', 'Monster's Ball' and 'The Dark Knight'. He is considered one of the best actors to have graced the screen during a very short career, spanning just 18 films.

Heathcliff Andrew Ledger was born in Perth, Australia on April 4th, 1979. His parents, Sally and Kim Ledger named him after the popular hero from 'Wuthering Heights'. (AP) 

Ledger joined the Globe Shakespeare Company, Perth in 1996. After starring in Australian TV series 'Sweat' and the Fox drama 'Roar', he shot to fame with the 1999 film, '10 Things I Hate About You'. (10 Things I Hate About You | AP)

Heath Ledger met and fell in love with actress Michelle Williams during the filming of 'Brokeback Mountain'. The couple had a daughter, Matilda Rose, on October 28th 2005. The two were nominated for Academy awards for their performance in the movie. (AP)
