`36 crore more sanctioned for Manair suspension bridge

 KARIMNAGAR : The State government issued revised administrative sanction orders for high level cable bridge across Manair river at Sadashivapalli connecting Hyderabad - Karimnagar - Ramagundam road and Rayapatnam - Kodad road.In addition, the orders are applicable for the improvement of road from Kaman to Housing Board Colony in Karimnagar with an estimated cost `183 crore.

According to Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, initially `147 crore was sanctioned, but no contractor came forward as the proposal was not viable at that cost. Then, another `36 crore is added and the revised order with `183 crore was issued as GO 558 on Saturday. Only Tata Consultancy came forward to take up the works and tenders would be finalised within a week.

The works will start within a month. The proposed bridge will have modern technology than used in bridges in Mumbai and Howrah, Kamalakar said. Manair dam area will develop as a tourism hub in the coming days with high level suspension bridge, Manair River Front and IT Tower, he said.

Govt sanctions `19.48 for road development works
The government also issued administrative sanctions for village roads development in Karimnagar mandal. `19.48 crore is sanctioned for eight R&B roads. Kamalakar said for the last 60 years villagers have been seeking R&B roads but in vain, only after Telangana government came to power their dreams came true. He expressed special thanks to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and MP B Vinod Kumar, Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Eatela Rajender for sanctioning the funds.
