The RSS has demanded total abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir "in national as well as the state's interest".

Addressing a gathering of citizens and sangh volunteers here to mark the 88th Foundation Day of the RSS here yesterday, its National Secretary K C Kannan referred to the recommendations of interlocutors on special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.

He said Article 370 is a major hurdle in economic development and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kannan also cautioned the Centre against the designs of China which, he said, could never be friendly to India.
