Delhi police quiz Shilpa's hubby

Express News Service

The Delhi Police on Wednesday questioned Raj Kundra, co-owner of Rajasthan Royals, for almost eight hours on the spot-fixing scandal that has rocked the IPL.

The police reportedly asked Kundra whether he had inputs on the rampant spot-fixing by his team members. It’s learnt that he denied knowledge of any such goings on in his team. All the three players arrested for spot-fixing in the recently-concluded IPL-6, Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, play for the Rajasthan Royals.

The Delhi police also quizzed Kundra’s associate Umesh Goenka. The police said cricketer Siddarth Trivedi, who too plays for Rajasthan Royals, had agreed to be the prosecution witness in the case. Trivedi had alleged that Goenka asked him details like pitch information as well as composition of the team. Earlier, the Delhi Police had sought information from former BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale and IPL CEO Sundar Raman on the tripartite agreement between BCCI, IPL teams and players.

The police had on Tuesday invoked the stringent MCOCA against Sreesanth.
