BJP paying price for 'ingratitude'

Express News Service

Having gathered a momentum around a new leadership and in the excitement of claiming a future, the BJP, at its three-day national executive, forgot to pay obeisance to the past, and is paying the price.

The correction was made a day late.

If he had failed to mention the architect-patriarch of the BJP, L K Advani, in his acceptance speech that concluded the Goa conclave euphoria on Sunday, newly-elected party election campaign committee chief Narendra Modi made amends on Monday.

He tweeted about a “lengthy” chat he had with Advani on the phone and how he “persuaded him (Advani) to change his mind. I have hope he will not disappoint the lakhs of our workers” who look up to him.

Whether his party will be able to persuade Advani to change his mind will be known in the days to come.

But what is already known is that Advani is miffed with Rajnath for paying no heed to his suggestion of setting up another election committee for the coming five-state elections under Nitin Gadkari.  The patriarch is hurt that even his small requests are being ignored.
