Badhkhal Lake in Faridabad on Way to Revival

FARIDABAD: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said steps are being taken to revive Badkhal lake here to once again attract tourists and a company has been tasked to with the job analysing the reasons behind the drying up of the water body.

The Lake is situated in Badkhal village in Faridabad, about 32 km from Delhi.

The BJP MLA from Badkhal Seema Tirkha brought up the issue of lake before CM at a rally here yesterday, saying it was once a tourist spot that attracted huge visitors and collected revenue, is now drying.

Khattar assured the people that his government is already working on the matter and a professional company has been tasked with the job of analysing the reasons behind drying of the lake.

The professionals would be working out ways to reinstate the lake in its earlier form when the people used to ferry boats in it and enjoy the day out with their families, he said.

He accused the previous government of ignoring the lake and announced a fund of Rs 10 lakhs that would be paid to the company working for the revival of the lake.

"With the CM already taking initiative in the matter I am very hopeful that the lake would be revived.This would not only increase the revenue but will promote employment for the locals too," Trikha told PTI.
