Nation-wide Strike Against Anti-worker Policies is Effective, Says Dasgupta

NEW DELHI: The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) on Wednesday asserted that trade unions' nation-wide strike over anti-worker policies has been effective.

“The strike has been wonderful and splendid. It has been effective throughout country. This strike is against the anti-worker policies of the government, against the labor reforms and inflation,” Gurudas Dasgupta, General Secretary, AITUC told ANI.

“It is a protest against the way the government has tried to scuttle the trade man movement of this country and deny the workers the right to form union,” he added.

He also said that the union demanded minimum wage of Rs. 15000, pension and social security for all the workers across the country.

Dasgupta further stated that the government is playing fraud with the workers they are doing false promises to the workers.

Ten central trade unions have launched a 24-hours nationwide strike to protest against changes in labour laws by the current NDA regime.
