Four teenage boys are feared drowned off Rajodi beach in Palghar district neighbouring Mumbai during high tide today, police said.

PALGHAR (Maharashtra): Four teenage boys are feared drowned off Rajodi beach in Palghar district neighbouring Mumbai during high tide today, police said.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when six youths, hailing from Nallasopara township, ventured into the sea for swimming.

"They had gone to the beach at around 2 PM. After they entered water, four youths were swept away due to high tide while two were saved by villagers," said Assistant Inspector, Arnala sea police station, K Kolhe.

A search was on to trace the four youths, he said.

The missing youths have been identified as Rohan Jadhav (17), Sunny Palav (15), Sachin Vishwakarma (16) and Chetan Kasav (19), the officer added.
