Charge sheet against Gayatri Prajapati for allegedly lodging fake cases against IPS officer, wife

Nutan Thakur had alleged that Prajapati had managed to get false criminal cases registered against her and her husband IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow police today filed a charge sheet against former UP cabinet minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati in a court here in connection with a case lodged on the complaint of Nutan Thakur, wife of IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.

Nutan Thakur had alleged that Prajapati had managed to get false criminal cases lodged against her and her husband following and based on her complaint, the case was registered at the Gomti Nagar police station.

After the police filed the charge sheet today, Chief judicial magistrate Sandhya Srivastava fixed July 27 as the date for taking cognisance.

The court rejected an application moved on behalf of Prajapati, under section 167 of CrPC, demanding his release from judicial custody on the ground that charge sheet had not been filed within 90 days of his judicial custody in the matter.

The court found that the charge sheet was filed within time.

Earlier, in her complaint to the police, Nutan Thakur had alleged that Prajapati had managed to get false criminal cases registered against her and her husband, including a false charge of rape lodged through a Ghaziabad based woman.
