PATNA: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a charge-sheet against nine accused, including two Nepal residents, for the conspiracy to blow up railway tracks in Bihar’s East Champaran district last year. According to the charge-sheet filed at an NIA special court here, the conspiracy to blow up railway tracks at Ghorasahan on September 30, 2016 was hatched in Pakistan and that the funds for it came from United Arab Emirates.
The two Nepal citizens – Shamshul Hoda and Brij Kishore Giri – were the main conspirators of elaborate plans to blow up railway tracks and bridges in various parts of north India. Hoda and Giri were arrested in Nepal by Bihar police during an investigation into the murder of two men – Deepak Ram, 18, and his uncle Arun Ram, 28 – in December 2016. Police found that the duo was murdered for their failure to blast the railway tracks near Ghorasahan, where a pressure cooker bomb was recovered by the cops and later defused. The charge-sheet says Hoda, a non-resident Nepalese citizen based in the UAE, had entered into a criminal conspiracy with Mohammad Shafi, a Pakistani resident, to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in India.
“Hoda visited Pakistan in the month of July 2016 along with Md Shafi. The conspiracy hatched was to carry out IED explosions on railway tracks and bridges, to blow up passenger trains in order to cause loss to public life, disrupt essential lines of communication and thereby cause threat to security and integrity of India,” says the charge-sheet. Hoda made Giri a partner in his nefarious plot and transferred large sums of money to him from UAE.
