Arpan Verma, a Cafe Coffee Day customer, was recently slapped by a woman employee at a Jaipur outlet for allegedly pointing out and filming cockroaches in the cafe's refrigerator.
This video which later went viral, was shared by Nikhil Anand Singh on Twitter. In the video, Verma is seen pointing towards the cockroaches to the employees, and a woman employee is seen coming towards him and slapping him. The same employee is also seen filming the customers.
According to Singh's tweet, Verma had complained to the CCD staff about the unhygienic conditions and demanded a refund. However, he alleges that the staff went on hide that portion of the fridge and went on to serve other customers from the same refigerator where all the stored food was exposed to the cockroaches and bugs.
In the tweet, Verma also said that the employee slapped him and accused him of abusing her after he started informing the other customers about the cockroach and bugs in the cafe.
Later, in a statement, Cafe Coffee Day said, "We will take the required action without compromising in our endeavor to deliver quality products and services to our patrons," and added that the issue has been escalated to ascertain facts and take necessary action.
It's not yet clear if either party has filed an FIR about the incident, and the CCD management has taken the matter into its own hands trying to solve it amicably.
