NEW DELHI: The BJP on Saturday sought to put the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar in a corner by asking him to take action against the RJD chief Lalu Prasad following the “expose” by a television channel of him having been taking phone calls of the jailed party leader Mohammad Shahabuddin. The Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, while taking potshot at the Bihar chief minister, asked him to break his “eloquent silence”.

The minister stated that the RJD chief had been hobnobbing with a convict by flouting all norms. Shahabuddin was the Lok Sabha MP of the RJD from Siwan before he was convicted for murder charges. He is also accused of more than two dozen serious charges, which include murders, which also included JNU leader Chandrashekhar.

The BJP asked the Bihar chief minister if he would initiative investigations into the claims of the television channel of having taped conversations between the RJD chief and Shahabuddin.
