Uttar Pradesh woman raped and forced into flesh trade

BANDA: A 22 year-old woman was repeatedly raped for six months allegedly by three men who later pushed her into flesh trade in neighbouring Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, police said today.

Superintendent of Police N Kolanchi said the woman's family members had lodged a complaint six months ago with the police seeking intervention to resolve the missing case of their daughter.

In the complaint, they claimed that Farook had lured the woman with a promise of marrying her and later kidnapped her, ASP Jitendra Dubey said.

The woman was held hostage in Kulpahad Kotwali area and raped by three people, including Farook and his two accomplices Veeru and Bamlesh, the ASP said, adding that the woman was later sold off to a youth in Sonapur village for Rs 40,000.

The woman was rescued yesterday from Mauranipur area of Jhansi, he said.

Bamlesh has been arrested while the other two accused are at large, Dubey said.
