The latest actor to join the bandwagon is Sandalwood heroine - Yagna Shetty. Having made a name in films, she will now be making her presence felt in TV soaps. Yagna Shetty is playing the main lead in the mega serial Varasdhara produced by actor-director Sudeep.

The serial being directed by Gadda Viji, also features child artiste Chitrali - the winner of Drama Juniors. Though not many details have been revealed about the serial, it is learnt that  the episodes are currently being shot in  Chikkamagaluru. Yagna Shetty made her debut in 2007 with Ondu Preethiya Kathe and was noticed for her roles in Eddelu Manjunatha, Sugreeva, Love Guru, Kalla Malla Sulla and Ulidavaru Kandanthe.

Actor Sudeep is producing the serial. Gadda Viji who has directed films like Dyvare and Plus has stepped into small screen with this project.

Anu Prabhakar

The serial will be aired on Zee Channel. A promotional video has been shot with Sudeep to give the serial a kick start.

Meanwhile, Anu Prabhakar, who is now a household name following her work in films and on small screen, shall be part of another mega serial Triveni Sangama to be aired on Suvarna Channel. Though an official announcement is yet to be made from the Channel’s end, we hear they have approached actor Ramkumar and singer Rajesh Krishnan to be part of the serial.
